Market research showed that the solid colors of the old Nutrisoda cans didn't covey to consumers that the beverage, launched by PepsiAmericas subsidiary Ardea, is sugar-free and contains functional benefits. As part of a redesign, the new cans are silver, a color that conveys "svelte," according to research. The cans also are 12 ounces, so they can be placed with other carbonated soft drinks, instead of with energy drinks.
