More than 21,000 jobs were created or saved by projects funded by the federal economic-stimulus plan through the end of May, according to a report released by a House committee. In Utah, more than 2,000 jobs have been created or saved, and four other states have created or saved 1,000 jobs, the report found. However, observers also note that the construction industry continues to shed jobs, losing 59,000 jobs in May.
