A Miami federal judge has approved the construction of a one-mile bridge in the Florida Everglades. The judge lifted an injunction on the Tamiami Trail bridge after a clause inserted in a federal spending bill cleared the way for construction to begin. "This is a huge step in the right direction, and we look forward to seeing the first shovel hit the ground in the months ahead," said Kirk Fordham, chief executive officer of the Everglades Foundation.
