Golf can be a lot of things to a CEO: A chance to relax, exercise, network and show off a little, all at the same time. But Del Jones reports that CEOs have become more secretive about their time on the links lately, lest they arouse populist ire. Golf's decline among executives may actually be good for businesses, Jones writes, since a quick look at Golf Digest's 2006 list of top CEO golfers is filled with underperformers and recent retirees.
