Petronas and a unit of ExxonMobil have signed a $2.1 billion production-sharing deal for development of seven fields off the coast of Malaysia, according to Petronas. The Malaysian state-owned company said Wednesday that the objective of the venture is to extract additional oil from existing fields using enhanced oil-recovery techniques and to maintain production levels of its Tapis blend of crude oil.
