With adequate investments and government support, Brazil should be able to increase its biofuel production from sugar as well as sugar cane residue to as much as 2.1 billion gallons by 2020, according to a report by Novozymes. Producing biofuel from agricultural residues could contribute up to $4 billion to Brazil's export income, the report said.
