MIT researchers are applying nanotechnology in the development of next-generation biomedical treatments that could benefit the medical-device sector in Minnesota. A chemical engineering professor is working on a "pharmacy on a chip" that could improve how drug-coated stents deliver the treatments while another researcher is devising a nanotech-based GPS tool that can direct stem cells to injured tissues in the heart and in other sensitive organs.
