Sen. Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., has introduced legislation that would require online booking engines to reveal up-front the name of the company operating an airline flight. Schumer said regional airlines account for 40% of the U.S. commercial fleet, but "not all Web sites disclose which airline carrier passengers will actually be flying until the last moment." The senator hopes to attach his proposal to the FAA's reauthorization bill. A spokeswoman for the Air Transport Association said the group has not taken a position on the Schumer bill.
