Fewer than one in four of the 18-to-24 set are Twitter users compared with 99% who use social networks, a poll from Pace University and the Participatory Media Network has found. Some 85% of Twitter's users in the 18-to-24 segment tap the microblog to follow friends, 54% follow celebrities and 29% follow family and marketers, according to the survey.
