Wal-Mart Stores, the largest retailer in the world, is planning to outsource more IT work to India, sources said, and the company has shortlisted several Indian IT firms. Wal-Mart is looking to award a number of contracts for back-office work. "Wal-Mart has been testing the waters by outsourcing smaller projects to companies such as Infosys, TCS and Wipro. Now, the retailer wants to flesh out a more comprehensive outsourcing strategy and has shortlisted these tech vendors," a senior executive of one of the companies said.
