Elizabeth Warren, the outspoken chairwoman of the Congressional Oversight Panel of the government's Troubled Asset Relief Program, is set to encourage lawmakers to establish an agency to protect consumers of financial products. "We can help fix the broken credit market. And I can sum it up in four words: Consumer Financial Protection Agency," Warren's prepared remarks say. Sen. Jack Reed said the measure to create the Consumer Financial Products Agency "will be carried out."
