Belgian scientists found that 3 Tesla MRI scans allowed doctors to detect 26 of 27 cases of deep endometriosis, a chronic condition marked by the growth of uterine tissue outside the uterus, in a study involving 41 women aged 20 to 46. They also found that the scans helped surgeons pinpoint which women would benefit from less-invasive pelvic surgery.
