A New York Times analysis determined that cities and metropolitan areas are getting less than two-thirds of the federal stimulus money set aside for highway projects, even though two-thirds of the nation's population lives in those areas. Of the money for the 5,274 transportation projects approved, less than half is going to the 100 biggest metropolitan areas, according to the analysis.
