Caribou Coffee is holding a "Sip up Summer" photo contest inviting participants to submit images of summer moments. A winner will be chosen each week between June 1 and July 6, and one of those winners will receive the grand prize of a professional camera.
Andrea Illy, chairman and CEO of illycaffe, says coffee is "the official beverage of culture." He commissions artists to design special-edition cups such as the one by filmmaker Pedro Almodovar featuring images of actress Penelope Cruz.
7-Eleven has introduced a blue Slurpee called Liquid Artillery as a tie-in with the new movie, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra." The beverage, created by the Coca-Cola Co., has strawberry, pineapple and lime flavors, and comes in collectible character cups.
The Frito-Lay brand is asking women to submit inspiring stories that can be turned into animated webisodes. Participants can submit as many as five stories, with the winning entry to air as an "Only in a Woman's World" webisode in November.
Smoothie franchise Robeks has teamed with Zola Acai on several products, including the Awesome Acai Smoothie and the Acai Energizer Smoothie. The two companies also are rolling out the Acai Especial Bowl, a Brazilian recipe with acai, guarana, blueberries and bananas.
