Ericsson has submitted a bid for Nortel's wireless assets, the company announced. Ericsson won't say how much it is offering, but it will be competing against Nokia Siemens Networks, which offered $650 million, and MatlinPatterson Global Advisers, which bid $725 million. If Ericsson's bid is successful, the addition of Nortel's unit could help it boost sales of services in North America.
