A group representing European airline pilots wants the EU to follow the lead of the FAA, which announced last week it would propose new caps on flying hours to reduce pilot fatigue. While the European Cockpit Association is pushing for new rules after a panel of experts last year found that the 13-to-14-hour EU flight duty period was excessive, the Association of European Airlines, representing large and small carriers and charter operators, is railing against the new rules, claiming flaws in the scientific study.
