Defense Secretary Robert Gates on Thursday blasted Congress for second-guessing military experts on which weapons, including the controversial F-22, are needed to best defend the U.S. "If we can't get this right, what on earth can we get right?" he said in a speech to the Economic Club of Chicago. "It is time to draw the line on doing defense business as usual." Gates told reporters at the event that lawmakers were playing a zero-sum game: "The more they buy of stuff we don't need, the less we have available for the stuff we do," he said.
