As the recession increases the ranks of do-it-yourselfers, instructional videos on the Web are booming. In just 17 months, the four founders of Howcast have added 100,000 such videos to their site, but quantity is not their only goal. The site may soon branch into creating specialty how-to videos directly for companies such as Nestlé that want to show their customers how to get the most out of their product.
