As many as 45,000 physicians may be eligible for nearly $64,000 in Medicaid subsidy payments for adopting electronic health records under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, according to a new report. Doctors who are able to comply with "meaningful use" guidelines and have a patient mix of at least 30% Medicaid volume may receive the subsidy over a six-year period, the researchers said.
