The Mount Pleasant Retirement Village may not sound like the kind of place where you'd find someone building an aircraft in his own garage, but that's exactly what a 76-year-old retired civil engineer in Middletown, Ohio, is doing. David Morgan, who currently pilots a twin-engine Beechcraft Baron six-passenger airplane, is building the RV-12 single-engine airplane from a kit as what he called "an insurance policy for old age" because the RV-12 has less strict pilot qualifications than the Beechcraft.
