The Tampa Bay Rays' new stadium should have a retractable roof so the building's interior can be air conditioned in the summer, according to an advisory group studying design options. The task force also recommended that the stadium be located close to mass transit, seat 37,000 people and have a mixed-use area nearby. The group will make final recommendations by early 2010. The park "should be the first of the next generation of stadium design," said one advisory group member.
