US Airways will cut 600 ground positions ranging from ticket agents to ramp workers as it seeks to save cash amid a deep downturn in air travel. Employees affected by the latest round of layoffs were notified on Tuesday, and the carrier is still seeking 400 flight attendants to volunteer for furloughs. "Today's economy demands we continue to look for ways to control costs," COO Robert Isom said in a memo to employees.
