Creative directors should be evaluated on the strength of their work, not their ability (or lack thereof) to dazzle clients during a pitch meeting, according to Mark Wnek, chairman-chief creative officer of Lowe, New York. "New business pitches are not meant to be vaudeville," he writes. "Great work should be the only eloquence necessary. Everything else is flim-flam."
