Results of a Nielsen Online study found almost 16 million U.S. children ages 2 to 11 went online in May, making up 9.5% of Internet users. The time that children spent online increased 63% in the past five years, from about seven hours a week to more than 11 hours, the research said. The study found boys spent more time online than girls, but girls viewed more Web pages.
