China's Alibaba Group is developing social-networking platforms to bolster its online sales by getting users to spend more time and money on its sites. Alibaba is adding a beta version of a Facebook-like site as well as a Twitter-style feed to its Taobao.com Web site, a representative said. Alibaba.com, meanwhile, is getting a more professional, LinkedIn-style site.
