Carrefour, the largest retailer in the world after Wal-Mart, said the dwindling popularity of its hypermarkets in France remains a problem, but that its revival plans are otherwise on track. The French retailer is increasing promotions, producing more own-brand products and overhauling store formats to increase market share. CEO Lars Olofsson said Carrefour is looking to implement a new model for hypermarkets in France in the next few years.
