Recession-weary consumers are finding a way to save money with their cell phones. Services such as Cellfire and Yowza send electronic coupons to interested customers, targeting phones within blocks of a participating retailer. While paper coupons average a redemption rate of less than 1%, Cellfire says its electronic coupons are redeemed as much as 20% of the time.
