Dow Chemical, under a Federal Trade Commission mandate to divest some assets it acquired in a $16.5 billion buyout of Rohm & Haas, says it is selling an acrylic acid and esters plant in Clear Creek, Texas, along with a specialty-latex business, to Arkema for $50 million. Dow said last week it has about $26 billion in assets it could divest and that it struck agreements in the second quarter to sell about $3.3 billion in assets.
