India's biggest auto exporter appealed to the Indian government for help, anticipating a loss of sales because of a free-trade agreement between the EU and South Korea. If the pact gets final approval, vehicles made in South Korea will be exempt from the EU's 10% import duty. If the duty is waived, it will be "virtually impossible" for India to complete in the EU, said H.S. Lheem, CEO and managing director of Hyundai Motor India.
