Between July and August, investor confidence in Germany improved dramatically, according to a survey by the ZEW Center for European Economic Research. The monthly index, a measure of how investors feel about the economy during the next six months, rose from 39.5 points in July to 56.1 points in August, compared with a historic average of 26.5. "The recent development of the GDP shows that the previous expectations of the financial-market experts have come true," said ZEW President Wolfgang Franz.
