The extensive requirements for the steel base of one of the Ground Zero buildings at the former World Trade Center site in Manhattan, and minimal on-site space with which to work, prompted contractor Metfab Metals to build a 50-foot tall mock-up of the base of the building. The model includes 10-foot-tall windows bordered by steel. Meanwhile, officials say it could take another decade before construction at the site is complete.
