Federal investigators say at least a dozen Northwest Airlines flights have been affected by the same faulty airspeed indicators that played a role in the fatal crash of Air France Flight 447. Anonymous sources told The New York Times that "brief" problems occurred on Airbus A330 aircraft operated by Northwest and came to light only as a result of the Air France crash. "The discovery suggests the equipment problems on planes are more widespread than previously believed," according to the paper.
