Entrepreneurs who are starting their own companies need to distinguish what makes them unique among the competition, advises USA TODAY columnist Gladys Edmunds. By way of example, Edmunds suggests that new business owners look to examples set by Debbi Fields and Dave Thomas in spinning a business in a crowded niche.
