Nestlé's Butterfinger has sealed a deal with The Improv, owner of 28 Improv and Funny Bone comedy clubs across the U.S. Elements include a sweepstakes for a comedy-tour vacation package, as well as a three-minute video to be played at clubs at the start of each show, featuring riffs on the Butterfinger tagline, "Nobody's Gonna Lay a Finger on My Butterfinger."
H.J. Heinz Co. Chairman William R. Johnson said the company could see sales growth of 4% to 6% in the next fiscal year, bolstered by a consumer trend toward eating at home. While consumers worldwide are saving money by switching to private-label brands, he said, they "remain loyal to Heinz brands because we deliver quality, nutrition, innovation, convenience and value."
Tipton Mills, a subsidiary of N.Y.-based Buffalo Blends, plans to purchase and renovate a 40,000-square-foot facility in Columbus, Ind. The company, which specializes in hot-chocolate drink mixes and chocolate syrup, will employ about 40 people at the production, research and development facility.
