The American Petroleum Institute reported a higher-than-expected crude-oil inventory for last week. Domestic crude rose by 2.8 million barrels, to 340 million, during the week ending Sept. 25; distillates rose by 2.3 million barrels, to 170.7 million; and gasoline dropped by 1.7 million barrels, to 212.5 million.
