According to a pair of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs speaking last week in Palo Alto, Calif., Apple has replaced Microsoft as the PC industry's designated villain because of its alleged anti-competitive policies. Among the issues highlighted by Mahalo CEO Jason Calacanis and former Apple marketing executive Guy Kawasaki were Apple's refusal to extend iTunes to non-iPods, its practice of locking iPhone users into AT&T service, its requirement that iPhone developers navigate an approval process and the fact that it blocks other browsers and applications from being installed on the iPhone.
