Ford Motor said it will significantly increase auto production in China after a manufacturing plant opens there in 2012. The company said it will invest $490 million on the facility, which it is building with local partner Chongqing Changan Automobile. "Today's announcement reinforces our commitment to the further expansion of our China operations to meet the continued rise in demand from Chinese consumers for world-class Ford products and services," said Alan Mulally, Ford's president and CEO.
