German Chancellor Angela Merkel voiced concern that leaders from the Group of 20 nations meeting in the US might lack focus and urged her counterparts to zero in on financial-market regulation. "We must not search for substitute issues and forget over them financial-market regulation," Merkel said. "The issue is not that we can't talk about growth strategies, sustainable growth strategies, and maybe also about the future role of G-20 ... but it must not be the case that we search for this new topic and no longer talk about the other."
