The name and image of Boyko Borisov, the prime minister of Bulgaria, are shown on the packaging of a new chocolate bar launched by a Bulgarian company owned by former international football referee Ichko Lozev. Borisov reportedly has given his approval to market the product.
Kraft Foods added two production lines to its chocolate-making facility in Svoge, Bulgaria. The factory will be able to produce 1 million bars of both local and international brands of chocolate a day.
Production of organic yogurt has begun at a Bio Bulgaria plant in the village of Malo Buchino near Sofia in Bulgaria. The Harmonica dairy is making Bio yogurt, believed to be the first and only organic yogurt brand in the country.
Kraft Foods is investing in a new coffee plant in Bulgaria's Kostinbrod that will use a technology for refrigerating coffee to extend the life of its aroma. The facility is expected to export coffee to Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia and Slovenia.
