An Indiana school district has created a model classroom to demonstrate effective teaching strategies for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. The Autism House at Hinkle Creek Elementary School models classroom setup, teaching techniques and interventions for students with autism who are enrolled in general- or special-education classes. A program for middle- and high-school teachers is planned, and a team of educators is working on tool kits to help district schools teach students with autism.
