The Senate Finance Committee on Wednesday released the $856 billion health care reform bill that includes a provision for a 65% equipment utilization rate for Medicare reimbursement of imaging studies, a radiology group said. If the bill is approved, the 65% proposed equipment use rate will be effective for the first four years of the bill's implementation. An impact study would then determine the cost-effectiveness of the use rate and whether it should be retained or increased, an official of the group said.
