A study of 57,000 pregnancies in Denmark found pregnant women who took antidepressants had twice the risk of a preterm delivery and their babies were more likely to end up in intensive care. Researchers said babies exposed to selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs, also were more likely to have a five-minute Apgar score of seven or below.
