The Interior Department has halted oil and gas drilling at 60 of the 77 disputed areas in Utah, citing problems with the leasing process for the properties. Jack Gerard, president of the American Petroleum Institute, opposed the agency's decision and called it another attempt by the Obama administration to block oil and gas development. "This troubling trend means less revenue to federal, state and local governments at a time when our nation is running a record deficit," Gerard said.
