A switch to so-called demand-side ad networks could be a boon to publishers, who potentially could reap display ad business and make a run for branding dollars now being spent on TV, according to Michael Zimbalist, vice president of research and development operations at The New York Times Co. "Demand-side networks selling reach against target could challenge TV to the benefit of buyers and sellers alike," Zimbalist writes.
