The formation of the General Aviation Caucus in the House resulted in House passage of an amendment to the TSA Authorization Act limiting the TSA's authority to issue security directives to only those situations involving imminent threat and of finite duration. The groups working on the effort included the AOPA, and the bill still needs to pass in the Senate, but lawmakers say the AOPA's "GA Saves America" campaign should help protect the industry in further challenges.
