Meeting this week in Montreal, the UN's International Civil Aviation Organization is hammering out details on an initiative to cut aviation emissions by 60% over 40 years. "We have to do our share to protect life on the planet," ICAO President Roberto Kobeh Gonzalez said at the opening of the three-day meeting. The plan has been under development for two years, and ICAO will submit the finished product during the upcoming UN climate summit to be held in Copenhagen.
