The House has approved legislation that directs the Energy Department to create a team responsible for developing a long-term research plan that would help transition solar energy into commercial use. The bill also contains $2.25 billion for technology development projects from 2011 to 2015. "While solar technology is available and being deployed now in all 50 states, the solar technology roadmap will help continue technological innovations and breakthroughs in the solar industry, driving down costs even further," said Rhone Resch, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association.
