BlackBerry maker Research in Motion has put its global brand in a spot traditionally occupied by music-industry labels by sponsoring U2's world tour, which begins today in Tampa, Fla. "BlackBerry made the TV commercial with our music and then spent many millions of dollars on media and TV worldwide. They provided a budget that no record company could have possibly matched," said U2 manager Paul McGuinness.
