In its draft environmental impact report, Royal Dutch Shell said production from its planned floating liquefied natural gas venture in the Browse Basin off Australia's western coast would not begin until 2016 or later. The design and front-end engineering for the venture have commenced, but a final investment decision will not be made until early 2011, Shell added. Construction of the 600,000-metric-ton site, which is valued at $5 billion, is expected to take five years.
