Governors in several states say funds from the economic stimulus package have helped save or create jobs. In California, for example, more than 100,000 jobs were created or saved through the end of September. Some Republicans, however, say the stimulus program has not done enough to revive the U.S. economy. Other observers note that the impact of the stimulus on job creation is difficult to quantify; some estimates include jobs created indirectly as a result of stimulus programs.
